As a kid, I took thousands of pictures on disposable cameras and frequented my hometown's photo gallery on a daily basis. It was at that gallery that I realized how deep my love for photography was; it wasn't until college that I realized it could be more than a hobby. I read every book in that gallery and found inspiration in the works of Vivian Maier. She was shy and recluse, but wasn't afraid to take photos on the street. I wanted to be like her. Now I've begun to channel her fearless energy into my own photography.
In college, I dove into concert photography, highlighting both small local artists, as well as touring musicians. After graduating, I worked as the in-house photographer and marketing assistant for a mid-size music venue in Flagstaff, AZ. From there, I officially started my photography business. Most of the client base I provided photography services for in Flagstaff were drag performers. Moving to Fort Bragg, CA in 2023, I've taken the opportunity to step back and explore a more artistic and self-reflective approach to my work. From December 2024 through February 2025, I was chosen to be part of an exhibition at the Mendocino Art Center called "How We Shape Each Other." I took this opportunity to begin to highlight the resilience and beauty of the drag community in Flagstaff by displaying photos of my friend, Jayde Justyce.
Reflected in my work, you will find that I strive to represent the underrepresented. Anyone who has gone through life seldom being understood can feel comfortable being seen through my lens.
So, to the creatives, the weirdos, the misfits and everyone in-between: welcome, stay a while.
